Digitas wins Crocs, JML switches to Wavemaker

Publicis’ Digitas has been named the global digital innovation agency of footwear company Crocs. Digitas UK will lead the business in Europe, with the UK and Germany being the key markets.

Heidi Cooley, CMO of Crocs, says, “What stood out was Digitas’ ability to combine market intelligence with creativity and media strategy, and then pull it all together into a cohesive plan that was defined on a global scale, but which could be quickly executed on a regionally relevant scale. The ability to be even faster to market is a key part of our digital growth strategy as we seek to accelerate our brand not only in the US, but in key regional markets such as the UK, China, Japan and Korea.

WPP’s Wavemaker UK won JML’s media planning and strategy brief. JML sells well via retail video displays. JML Sales Director Brian Keogh says, “Previously, our media planning and buying was handled by an excellent small specialist agency working closely with our in-house team. However, as we continue to grow as a company, in a highly competitive market, we wanted to find an agency that could grow with our needs.

“During the pitch process, the Wavemaker team proved to be the partner of choice – not only can they offer an agency approach, but the team has shown an ability to deliver strong strategic advice with planning , effective and impactful media buying and activation. We look forward to seeing what our partnership with Wavemaker can bring.

Wavemaker has recently won a string of accounts, including Trainline in the UK and Amazon’s Audible globally.
